What is Missoula Children's Theatre?
Missoula has been coming to the coast for approximately 30 years now. The Troupe spends one week with children K to Grade 12 teaching them all aspects of theatre performance from lighting to acting. The Pacific Rim Arts Society has been bringing the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) group to the West Coast Communities for over 30 years. MCT is the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre and has been touring extensively for more than 45 years traveling from Montana to Japan. They will visit nearly 1,200 communities with up to 44 teams of Actor/Directors.
Children from Kindergarten to grade 12 spend one week, memorizing, singing, rehearsing, and learning all areas of theatre performance from lighting to directing. The performances rotate between the two communities of Ucluelet and Tofino, one year in Ucluelet, one year in Tofino.
Each year the performance is a different theme, from King Arthur’s Quest to Robin Hood to Red Riding Hood and so many more.
