Sylvie Godin is an Acadian from the North East of New Brunswick.

She spent 3 years at Moncton University in the Visual Arts department.

She arrived in Vancouver in the summer of 1988, and decided to stay and study make up artistry.  In 1995 she received a Cable Ace award in Los Angeles for best make up fx

She got introduced to stone carving in 2005, took weekend class, and took part in a stone carving symposium on Thetis island in 2006.  She did a week of carving at Pothier Enterprise in 2014 with master carvers Michael Binkley and George Pratt.  A member of the Sculptor Society of BC since 2013.  She has carved different types of stone, including marble, serpentine, black chlorite, sandstone.  Her favourite is the alabaster, because of the translucent quality of the stone that she transforms into beautiful night lights in the shape of hats.

Sylvie moved to Ucluelet in 2016 with her fisherman partner.
