Marina Wright

Painter

Marina paints in acrylics. Her favourite subjects to paint involve places she has visited, especially those she has consistently returned to throughout her life – the local beaches and forests of Vancouver Island. Marina has a degree in biological sciences and is always interested to learn more about local ecology. She deeply appreciates the species and natural landscapes of her home and loves to feature them in her paintings.

Painting is a quiet passion for me. The potential to improve and explore more subject matter is a huge motivator. I primarily paint landscapes with an emphasis on Vancouver Island, especially the Gulf Islands or forest scenes. I like to highlight native plants in these settings. I love to go outside, make a few sketches, take a few photos, and get started on canvas back in the studio!

A personal goal of mine is to gradually contribute to conservation of coastal B.C., especially initiatives that promote land protection or preservation of biodiversity and healthy ecosystems.
