I live and work on the ocean; most of my art reflects my experiences with the creatures living above and below the surface. I love showing people the things that live here; but mostly I love making them care about how important our oceans are. I am approaching this opportunity as I do with all others; using my art to highlight whatwe do not see on a daily basis, and shine a light on the diversity and beauty of the ecosystem.
It is my desire to represent the colourful diversity of wildlife. As a naturalist/guide, I hope to create a bond between to ocean and people. We rely on the ocean for our oxygen, and I yearn for practical and emotional attachment by all.
I am proud to be a woman working in the male dominated marine industry as the Captain of a vessel; supported and encouraged by my peers. I am constantly amazed and humbled by the Creator’s beauty, and I am focused on creating bold, work showcasing the life I encounter.
Currently holding Transport Canada 60 Ton Master Endorsement. In my years in the Maritime Industry, I have worked as a fishing boat Captain and Whale Watching Guide. Currently, I am a Charter Guide and Whale Watching Guide/Naturalist. My year is typically split between Maritime endeavours, and as a working artist.
