Jolene Hassard is a visual artist and registered veterinary technologist. She grew up on Vancouver Island on the west coast of Canada. She enjoys escaping to remote regions of the wilderness for inspiration and rejuvenation. She uses acrylic paint in the style of dotillism, creating intricate, colourful Mandala-like backgrounds with her subjects contrasting in silhouette. Her love of forests, animals and the ocean are reflected in her work. She lives in Nanoose Bay on Vancouver Island with her husband and their animal family.
