Taryn is a local artist primarily working with clay and flowers to bring her creativity to life.
Inspired by the intimate beauty that grows from our soil to the vast aerial views seen only from the skies above. Taryn finds pottery and floral work to balance very well with one another. She feels that while clay humbles and reminds the ease of non-attachment, flowers teach the gentle art of manipulation to perfection. Each piece of pottery is handmade, typically wheel thrown, and will never be the same as the last or the next. Her work in both mediums shows colour, texture and space from many different perspectives of the eye.
After 5 years of teaching herself pottery and 7 of an on-again-off-again-floral-hiatus, Taryn built an art studio at the Tofino-Long Beach Airport with the help of her step Dad. At Ease, she spends most of her days throwing clay and porcelain, as well as designing dreamy wedding florals and installations.
Ease is a private workshop space and brand that Taryn's pottery and floral work is commissioned through. The name “Ease” comes from her deeper desire to create such a space; to work with grounding mediums of the earth; to be and feel at Ease. Through art, she hopes to bring ease into the daily lives of her clients.
